Most teeth can be endodontically treated if necessary. Occasionally, a tooth cannot be conventionally treated due to inaccessible canals, if the root is fractured, if there is not enough bone support, or if there is not enough tooth structure remaining for it to be restored.
However, advances have occurred in technology and technique which allow us to save teeth with endodontic treatment that even a few years ago would have led to their extraction. When the outcome for previous endodontic treatment is not favorable, endodontic surgery may yet be possible in order to save and maintain the tooth.
Can all teeth be treated endodontically?
